The Bibbulmun Track winds its way from Kalamunda in the hills of Perth, through picture perfect small townships and past our door here in Pemberton on its way through to Albany. All in all some 1000km of hiking trails through forests, past farmland and along the coast.
Its the perfect time to plan your walk for this coming season; Pemberton is the ideal base for the trails with quality accommodation and loads of transport options should you wish to get onto a particular part of the track or just stay somewhere nice and attempt the trails as a day walk option.
Walking the trail is made easier with the Bibbulmun Track Foundation providing a catered walk for individuals; alternatively if you wish to attempt it yourself then organising a track transfer with Pemberton Discovery Tours may be the best way of getting onto the track with a personalised track transfer service option.
For groups or people looking at a daily walk here are some interesting suggestions (thinking outside the box) and making it personal;
Trail walks of 12km per day, with options to extend (we can do this from Donnelly River Village down)
Tram to tree walk (around 7km)
Hut to Hut (around 20km per day).
To give you an idea, you can see more on the www.pembertonlodge.com.au/trails website.
Ensure that someone in your group has a Telstra mobile phone. There are new towers dotted across the country and service has improved immensely!
Make it easy for yourself, the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail maps are now in stock, so drop us a line and we will get it in the post for you pronto! So if you are looking at research prior to planning; download the GPX or KML file here and grab a waterproof map copy here!
