A massive 2022!

With 2022 drawing to a close let us celebrate the old and new with what’s happening around town, and in the region.

New cafe ‘Just Lofty’s’ owner Shane brings a young, fresh face to the region, enticing Morgan home and with Jess at Cafe Brazil, Alia and Hannah at Ampersand Estate, Cleo at Hidden River Estate, Izzy at Lost Lake, we have a whole new generation of youth running our town.

It is pretty wonderful seeing these kids take the next step - we love seeing them work so proudly and professionally when we visit the businesses who are supporting them. The Pemberton New Years Eve Fireworks are still on! This time at the Pemberton Sportsclub at 9pm - and with a DJ and bands on at the pub it will be a fun night out for all ages. Silkwood have reopened with an exciting new menu, look for signage at Lost Lake and Below & Above, favourites like Mountford, Tangletoe Cidery, Ampersand Estates, Rainfall Distillery, Woodgate and Truffle Hill are open 7 days over Christmas holidays The colocation has been eagerly awaited with the Pemberton Visitors Centre, Pemberton Community Resource Centre, Pemberton Library together with the Museum and History group, Pemberton Arts Group, RSL and the Chamber of Commerce moving into the new and refurbished spaces early in the year - located opposite the Post office, with additional parking at the Pemberton Hotel (carpark complete with e-vehicle charges; part of the electric highway). With Ampersand Estates, Southern Forests Chocolates and even Wild at Heart heading into their second and third years and new businesses starting every day including Donna's bespoke gift shop 'Kodoka' in the front room of the LJ Hooker office and new owners at the Millhouse Collective next door to our old shop (now a holiday house - Pemberton Lodge) Whilst you are in town - don't forget to have a selfy with the newest main street inhabitants (the bullock team pulling the refurbished whim) in the train park next door.

We have the lodge on the market - and would love to see it sold to people interested in creating tourism product (so a shop, a cafe, a brewery, an ice-creamery as a few ideas....) Click here to speak to our agent

For the young ones (and young at heart), Pump Hill Hay rides are now open to the public and start at 8/8.30am most days. Yummy Pemberton Honey are open with their little roadside shop and if you are lucky enough - the opportunity to taste the produce from their shed. For those a little older, pack your Mountain Bike or hire one from the Pemberton General Store. The Pemberton Mountain Bike Park has been groomed and manicured by the Pemberton Cycling Association. They've spent a lot of time this year working on the trails and upgrading them to international standards. It’s a great time to be living and working in the region. 2023 will see more tourism attractions developing in Pemberton - rumours about a Cheese factory, Antique store, Art gallery and ziplining are circulating.... so watch this space.
